Sharing Team Success for 2016!

As the year comes to an end we would like to thank the clients and strategic partners we have worked with in 2016. Changeworks has had a very successful year and is looking forward to what 2017 may bring.
We are more than just a PR and marketing company. We get our clients noticed across a wide range of channels, including video, social media and the printed press.
The many highlights of the last 12 months for us have included the introduction of a number of clients to Instagram, the recruitment of two new team members and exam success. We’ve also welcomed a number of new clients. For a full round up of the year please continue to read our 2016 success story.
January: Jordan’s full year started at Changeworks as our PR and marketing apprentice. The 19-year-old successfully passed her Level 4 Diploma in PR; as she brings enthusiasm and a thirst for knowledge she is definitely heading off in the right direction for an exciting career in this industry.
February: Altecnic Ltd, the UK’s leading plumbing products supplier, joined our client portfolio. Throughout the year we have provided the company with a wide range of PR and marketing support, including relationship building with appropriate media and social media strategy development.
March: Back in March, our apprentice Jordan enjoyed a day out with one of our strategic partners to learn about the fascinating world of design and print. She has a talent for graphic design and has started a design course to develop new skills that will provide further benefit to our clients.
April: The latest recruit to the team has made sure the office’s system and processes are in tip top shape. Sarah-Jayne joined Changeworks back in April as our new client services executive; she certainly has helped to drive new business opportunities and take an active role in administration duties. One of SJ’s first tasks was to guide us through a Communications Management Standard (CMS) which was completed in September.
May: We undertook a one-day workshop with our whole team, packed with case studies and exercises designed to coach best practice in account management techniques. One of the most important requirements of any PR professional is the ability to manage client accounts effectively. Managing and exceeding expectations; dealing with different types of personality; time management and negotiating are all standard requirements of the PR/client relationship.
June: Getting your employees out of the working environment is a powerful and proven way to help communication and make connections in the workplace. We went kayaking as part of our team building events programme and took part in a double team challenge to build a rocket out of straws and paper! We didn’t manage it, but we learnt that there is more learning in ‘failure’. Sue says: “There is no failure, only feedback!” Our time out of the office is focussed primarily on communication and working together as a team. In June we also successfully took on board Briggs Defence, a specialist division of asset management and engineering services specialist Briggs Equipment.
July: The summer signalled the introduction of animated videos to our clients. With this service we demonstrated new skills to improve social media, website ranking and to tell a story to our clients’ customers. Businesses use them to explain complex topics, train employees, or just show their sense of humour!
August: Changeworks stepped in to help the Satyananda Yoga Centre in Birmingham. It was limited to promoting itself online, so we helped to fund a new website and provided PR and marketing support.
September: Claire recently passed her CAM Diploma in Digital Marketing. Whilst studying, she gained an insight into all elements of online marketing, including effective use of social media, search engine optimisation, affiliate marketing and pay-per-click advertising. We also helped clients exhibiting at IMHX, where we planned and managed photography, video and a media briefing. Jordan also got the opportunity to showcase her hospitality skills by joining Hoppecke on stand duty. We also started work on a new project with an existing client and one of the UK’s leading port operators.
October: SJ’s hard work paid off when we passed a Communications Management Standard (CMS) set by the PRCA to become an accredited member. We were assessed and rewarded with the certificate in areas such as business planning, people management and client management. The accreditation gives our clients confidence in a professional service delivered by an agency that is committed to excellence. This month’s team-building initiative was focussed on problem-solving; we had to analyse a host of riddles and clues to plot our escape from a locked room.
November: We are providing our clients with more and more video content for social media and promotional material. In November we undertook further training to enhance our skills base. While convenient and efficient for our clients’ audiences, video marketing provides them with an attractive, versatile and extremely shareable medium to reach target markets.
December: We are well ahead of schedule as the 2016 reviews and 2017 planning process have begun for each of our clients, so that we can make the most of opportunities across different media outlets. Our remaining long-established account managers Martine and Rory are already working with the team on some exciting plans to make 2017 our best year yet. Our Senior Account Manager, Martin is leaving us at the end of the year, we wish him all the best in the future. We are also pleased to announce that Claire has been promoted to our new Account and Social Media Manager and Jordan as our new Junior Account Executive.
We are so grateful to have much respected clients and look forward to serving you again as we enter our tenth year, in 2017. At the same time, we’ll be seeking out more ambitious businesses that can benefit from our extensive expertise.
